Special Edition

EntraPass Special Edition is a single workstation security management software. It is used to control 2 doors using the KT-1 door controller, up to 128 doors using the KT-300 controller and up to 256 doors using the KT‑400 controller. It is a comprehensive menu‑driven software.

At the same time, it is easy to use. It provides administrators with the ability to define or modify parameters such as scheduling options or access levels, generate reports and activate controlled devices (e.g. closing/opening doors or activating lighting or air conditioning relays). EntraPass software provides full integration with Honeywell Galaxy intrusion alarm panels of ExacqVision NVRs, American Dynamics VideoEdge NVRs and DSC PowerSeries NEOs.

Corporate Edition

EntraPass Corporate Edition is a multi-workstation software platform that offers the best balance of power and cost in a network environment. It provides the flexibility to securely connect controllers directly to the network as well as via serial connections.

The KT-1 and KT-400 are IP controllers that communicate via highly secure 128-bit AES encryption, providing nothing less than secure communications. The software combines advanced security features, such as the EntraPass Go mobile app and the EntraPass Web platform, providing remote and convenient access to popular access control, video and intrusion detection tasks, as well as reporting. The enhanced user experience has made navigation and operation simple.

Global Edition

EntraPass Global Edition is a powerful, enterprise-level network management software that supports widely distributed applications with an unlimited number of users, controls thousands of doors, and enables simultaneous system access from up to 128 networked workstations.

The redundant server and gateway increase fault tolerance and ensure uninterrupted system operation. EntraPass Go

EntraPass Go Install

EntraPass Go Pass

The EntraPass Go Pass app allows cardholders to gain access to doors or other entry points by simply tapping an icon in the app as they approach the door anytime, anywhere. Using a Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G connection, the app connects directly to the EntraPass server. The server sends a one-time command to open doors that the cardholder has access to using their access levels. The mobile app works with any type of reader. Customers can add an unlimited number of EntraPass Go Pass users to the system by simply sending them email notifications. Additionally, EntraPass scalability allows customers to add thousands of EntraPass Go Pass users to the system.

Alarm panel integration

By integrating all security assets, such as intrusion detection, access control, video and phone activity into one common platform, users can work with one system, increasing simplicity and providing optimal control. Integration kits combine the DSC intruder alarm panel with the Kantech access control system, creating one unified solution. Integration with intruder alarm panels

The DSC PowerSeries or MAXSYS access control system can receive intrusion events, display zone status and manage partitions/user codes. In addition to serial communication between Kantech controllers and DSC PowerSeries Neo intrusion panels, Kantech also offers new IP connectivity. This not only provides flexibility in wiring, but also allows IP connections of intrusion panels to be assigned to a gateway or a single controller (KT-400/KT-1), making daily configuration and security tasks easier.

Virtual zones

To make the complexity of the system less of a problem for end users, a clear, simple visualization of objects, zones and states is required. EntraPass software uses up to 32 definable virtual zones on the DSC PowerSeries Neo panel. This allows customers to share physical door contacts and monitoring of doors, controllers, entrances and events via the advanced DSC PowerSeries Neo virtual zones.

This is a higher level of integration that saves money while increasing situational awareness. It is no longer necessary to wire door contacts to the intrusion panel - simply use the contact used in the access control system. An alarm generated in the access control system can trigger a zone alarm on the DSC PowerSeries Neo panel. Improved interaction between the intrusion detection system and the access control system allows operators in central monitoring stations to gain a better picture of the situation in the facility. This enables faster and more efficient action in the event of security threats. Kantech provides a comprehensive view of all security functions (e.g. "forced door opening") from a single system and their simultaneous recording from one to sixteen cameras via a compatible DVR/NVR device. All cameras can be called directly from the floor plan by double-clicking the camera icon or the dome icon. All Tyco video platform integrations are available by default via Entrapass software. Approved third-party video integrations with Entrapass software are covered by an optional license.

Video integration

Real-time monitoring is a response to the growing importance of video in access control systems. Integration with Exacq video management systems, American Dynamics DVR/NVR recorders (VideoEdge, HDVR, ADTVR, Intellex) and Kantech INTEVO integrated security platforms provides real-time video monitoring and video playback.

Video can be linked to access events (e.g. "door forced open") and recorded simultaneously from one to sixteen cameras via a compatible DVR/NVR device. All cameras can be called up directly from the floor plan by double-clicking the camera icon or the dome icon. All Tyco video platform integrations are available by default through Entrapass. Approved third-party video integrations with Entrapass are available through an optional license.

Video storage

Video storage provides an alternative to manually saving each individual video clip. Simply pre-define groups for video clips, e.g. door force or access denied. Video storage then saves the clips to the appropriate group based on any selected schedule.

Video clips can also be organized using bmp images instead of icons. The storage can connect up to 128 Exacq and/or American Dynamics NVRs via integration with EntraPass software and can archive imported video recordings to up to 24 digital storage devices. Video storage requires EntraPass Corporate or Global v3.xx software and later.

SQL Database Access

EntraPass Global offers a built-in, high-performance SQL database engine, allowing administrators to generate customized reports from the EntraPass database. Using the universal ODBC protocol, you can connect to external reporting tools and create your own reports.

LDAP Connector, User and Operator Synchronization

Active Directory is a widely used authentication directory that supports enterprise IT systems by integrating the synchronization of contact and schedule information and providing a means of centralized desktop access management.

EntraPass now synchronizes EntraPass users and operators with Microsoft Active Directory users, eliminating the need to manually create and maintain them in EntraPass. Keep in mind that Active Directory is the authoritative source and is not subject to modification by EntraPass. Active Directory synchronization also allows single-sign-on authentication. This means that operators are authenticated using their Windows credentials, so they can automatically log in to an EntraPass workstation with just one click. Up to ten Active Directory connections can be established simultaneously.

Server Redundancy, Database Mirroring

The Redundancy Server protects the EntraPass database from unexpected failures and is available as an option in the Corporate and Global software versions. It provides real-time data transfer, creating fully functional redundancy at an affordable price.

In the event of a primary server failure, the mirror database will automatically start a redundancy server that supports all the functions of the primary server. Best of all, the redundancy server is easy to deploy and configure. To provide local redundancy in an enterprise environment, you can use multiple redundancy servers using a mirrored database.

Gateway redundancy, secured communication

Ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the security system is of the utmost importance. A security system malfunction jeopardizes critical information and functionality, as well as the safety of people, facilities, and property. In the event of a gateway failure, EntraPass software will automatically switch to the redundant gateway after losing connection to the main gateway, preventing system downtime.

Kantech Standalone Controllers

Kantech KT controllers can also operate in standalone mode. This allows users to control and manage the controllers through simple, intuitive web-based software – without the need for EntraPass software. This reduces the total cost of ownership of the access control system; eliminating the need to purchase and maintain dedicated EntraPass access control software and workstations.

KT-1 Single Door IP Controller

KT-1 is a cost-effective yet feature-rich single door IP controller supporting two readers (I/O). Full functionality includes multi-swipe and 100,000 cardholders.

One-Touch Setup

The KT-1 is completely configured with a single touch button. There is no need to manually enter serial/MAC numbers. Simply provide an IP connection, press one button, and you are done.

Power over Ethernet (PoE)

KT-1 features a flexible power input with support for PoE+ (Power over Ethernet). Using a single Ethernet cable, the KT-1 connects directly to the EntraPass system via an Ethernet PoE adapter. This eliminates the need to connect the door to a local power supply.

Web-based software

The KT-1 single-door IP controller is ideal for small facilities that only require basic door security. It has a built-in web server that allows it to operate in standalone mode, without requiring EntraPass software. The intuitive, flexible web-based software allows you to easily manage and configure single-door security from anywhere using a desktop computer or mobile device.

KT-300 Double Door Controller

Two Door Controller

The KT-300 Door Controller supports up to two readers that can be installed at a single door to monitor entrances and exits or at two separate doors. It provides connections for all the peripherals required for a complete access control system and can connect to other door controllers to enable control of thousands of doors. Standalone mode provides backup in the event of a power or system failure, and the system stores cardholder and event data that is automatically sent to the EntraPass system when network connectivity is restored.

Connectivity

The built-in Combus expansion module means you can add a relay, input and output module to connect to HVAC systems, elevators, motion detectors, etc. Furthermore, the KT-300 can interface with external alarm systems, allowing an authorized person to turn the alarm on or off by simply presenting an access control card to the reader.

KT-400 IP controller for four doors

Four-Door Controller

The KT-400 is an Ethernet-ready four-door controller that provides EntraPass communication with 128-bit AES encryption and is a highly secure solution for all security-conscious companies. The KT-400 can be easily integrated into an existing EntraPass system using other Kantech controllers (KT-100 and KT-300) or can be used as the basis for a completely new security installation. The KT-400 manages probes on the network and only connects to the EntraPass gateway when an event occurs. Communication integrity is confirmed by a heartbeat sent regularly to the EntraPass system. This asynchronous communication reduces the bandwidth required to manage the access control system over the network.

KT-400 Four-Door Controller with Standalone Mode

The KT-400 Single Door IP Controller is ideal for small facilities that only require basic door security. It has a built-in web server that allows it to operate in standalone mode, without the need for EntraPass software. KT-NCC Gateway - Kantech Network Communication Controller

Entrapass Global Gateway

The KT-NCC device manages communication between the EntraPass Global Edition security management software and the door controllers. Instead of
using computers to communicate between the controllers and the server, the reliable, wall-mounted Global Gateway (KTNCC) device can be used. It also controls functions such as areas, alarm systems, global entry/exit, patrol routes, and secondary access levels. This makes the access control system easier to manage, expand, and provides significantly greater reliability.

IP Connection KT-IP Kantech

The KT-IP is an RS-232 to TCP/IP communication interface that connects KT-300 door controllers to a network. It reduces the number of wires and provides controllers with real-time access to data and enhanced functionality. The KT-IP device is compatible with EntraPass software and uses 128-bit AES encryption for secure communication. It also acts as a polling device to ensure that controllers only communicate with EntraPass software as needed, reducing network traffic.

VC-485 RS-232 to RS-485 converter

The VC-485 is an RS-232 to RS-485 communication converter that serves as an interface between the RS232 port of a host computer and 32 door controllers connected via a multi-node RS-485 network. The maximum length of the RS485 data line is 1200 meters. Powered by 5 or 12 VDC, the VC-485 converters can be connected back to back to serve as a repeater on the data line.

USB-485 USB to RS-485 converter

The USB-485 unit is designed to connect to (and power) the USB port of a host computer. It provides data in the required RS-485 communication protocol for door controllers. One RS-485 multi-drop network can connect up to 32 door controllers. Installed between the host and door controllers, the USB-485 unit allows for star configuration, extending the maximum transmission distance to 1200 meters

ioSmart Smart Card Readers and Multi-Tech Readers

ioSmart

Based on MIFARE Plus EV1, Kantech’s ioSmart card readers provide a high level of security by enabling end-to-end encryption between credentials and EntraPass access control software. These readers also offer customers an easy and efficient way to migrate from proximity to advanced smart card technology, whether using Kantech’s popular ioProx solutions or other proximity systems. The multi-technology readers can read both proximity and smart cards, allowing customers to migrate according to their own schedule.

Designed for versatility and time savings

Unlike other solutions on the market that use restrictive, proprietary technologies, ioSmart’s open technology offers versatility. ioSmart is based on MIFARE Plus smart card technology for readers and MIFARE Plus EV1 for credentials and supports a variety of card formats, including HID® Prox proximity cards. The readers can also be used with any Wiegand protocol access control system. To reduce installation time and save money, ioSmart smart card readers can be connected directly to standard door contacts and T.Rex devices, rather than running wires all the way to the controller. ioSmart smart card readers are available in single-box or pole-mount models, and can be installed indoors or outdoors.

High level of security

ioSmart readers provide 128-bit AES end-to-end encryption between the ioSmart card and the ioSmart reader when connected to a KT-400 or KT-1 controller using RS-485 protocol, as well as between said controllers and EntraPass software using IP protocol.

Intuitive user operation

ioSmart smart card readers feature intuitive LED status bars that clearly indicate different access states. Models are also available with a built-in, backlit capacitive keypad, providing two-step authentication using a contactless card and PIN.

Future-proof solutions

ioSmart smart card readers support Bluetooth technology and are field-upgradable, ensuring long-term use. In addition to access control, users can use additional, unlocked sectors of ioSmart MIFARE Plus EV1 cards in other third-party applications such as point-of-sale, canteens, buses, elevators, etc.* These readers offer an easy path to secure, feature-rich technology.

ioSmart smart cards

Contactless smart cards offer benefits to both card issuers and cardholders. A smart card provider can support multiple applications with a single card by combining a variety of technologies and complying with different security policies depending on the situation. Applications such as logical access to computer networks, electronic payments, vending machines, and restaurants can be combined with physical access to provide ID credentials for multiple applications. Contactless smart card technology is based on the ISO/IEC 14443 and ISO/IEC 15693 standards. Cards that comply with these standards are intelligent, capable of reading devices that store a variety of data, and operate in a variety of ranges. IoSmart is a next-generation contactless smart card with enhanced security, the popular classic MIFARE line of cards. IoSmart technology, NXP MIFARE EV1 Plus X, offers greater flexibility to optimize speed and confidentiality. The technology provides a wide range of features, including proximity control in the event of relay attacks. The Mifare EV1 Plus card uses the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for authentication, data integrity protection and data encryption.

Kantech’s multi-technology readers offer a flexible approach with support for a variety of proximity and smart card technologies in the same access control system. Wireless receiver and transmitter

The ioProx is ideal for applications requiring longer distances (up to 45m/150ft), such as opening parking gates. The ioProx is available with an optional integrated ioProx tag that can be read using the ioProx card reader, making it ideal for accessing both parking facilities and office buildings without having to search for multiple access cards. The ioProx uses radio frequency (RF) technology secured with cryptographic encryption. The ioProx receiver provides field selectability for both 26-bit Wiegand and Kantech Extended Secure Format (XSF).
